1982 Patrick Madden

He started his swimming career at Warren HS. The school didn’t have their own swimming team. He represented himself and earned two letters. He then attended Slippery Rock University and quickly made a name for himself at SRU. He was a four-year letterman and at one time he held six records. He was captain of the team his senior year and was named “Most Outstanding in PA” He also won four titles in the Penn-Ohio meet setting four records. He was also was a three-time NAIA All-American performer in 1959 -60 & 61. He also won Junior Olympic honors at SRU. After college he was an assistant coach for Butler HS and then became the head coach in 1969.

Sam Cavalero Sr.: He competed in independent sandlot sports for four decades. He helped organize the City Softball League and managed the Armco team for 18 years. He also was very involved in basketball over the same era’s.
