2001 George Mihalik

He as Slippery Rock University’s head football coach for 28 seasons from 1988 – 2015, when he retired from a long career as both a professor and coach at the University. He also starred as the starting quarterback for three-years at SRU in the early 1970’s winning back-to-back conference championships in 1972 and 1973 with a 25-5-1 record, and served as an assistant coach . He became a graduate assistant coach before taking over as head coach in 1988.In total he was involved with the SRU football program for 44 years. His overall record at SRU was 197-111-4.
