2002 Edward Hoyn

A 1930’s ERA Butler HS graduate who played baseball and swimming. He entered the US Army in 1942 through 1945. In 1952 he began umpiring in the Alabama State League and then moved on into the West Texas – New Mexico League, and then in 1953 he was assigned to the Alabama – Florida League, and finally umpired in the Piedmont League and then went on the volunteer retirement list. He later became a local PIAA basketball and football official.
