A Butler HS graduate who played baseball and basketball, lettering four years in baseball. He went on to continue his baseball career at the University of Delaware. After an outstanding career at Delaware he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as a pitcher, until 1996. He then played for local semi-pro baseball teams including the North Pittsburgh entrant in the Federation League helping them win championships. and also played for the Saxonburg entrant in the Butler Eagle County baseball league. Curt was instrumental in Saxonburg championship teams in 2004,, 2006, 2007 & 2009. Curt also had a successful high school baseball coaching career at Knoch HS, and was a finalist at the American Legion All East/West game in 1990.
