A 1988 Knoch HS graduate who was a three sport letterman in Basketball, Football and Track. At the same time he was a National Honor Society member, Who’s Who among American HS Students and he earned the American Legion Leadeship Award. He went on to attend Wooster College from1988-1992 letering four years in baseball. In 1991 he led the North Coast Conference withan ERA of 2.26 ranking him 37th in the nation for Division III baseball. In 1992 he led the North Coast Conference in strikeouts with 68 in 51 innings. He also pitched in1986 and 1987 for the Saxonburg American Legion baseball team winning back to back championships. In 1987 he pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Saxonburg in the Championship Series defeating Lyndora. In 1987 he earned an invitation only tryout with the Pittsburgh Pirates. From 1990-2000 he pitched for Saxonburg in the Butler Eagle County League. Some of his outstanding games included 16K’s against Butler in 1996, 17K’s against Gibsonia in 1997, 11 K’s against Mars in the championship game.
