He was a Sto Rox HS graduate where he lettered in football and track. He then went on to play football at Thiel College. After his collegiate career was finished he began his longtime coaching career, starting with Trinity HS, then Peters Township. He moved on to Mars HS and started a longtime career at Mars HS as a football coach and athletic director for the past 25 years. He coaching career record at Mars (currently through 2016) was 174-96) and reaching the WPIAL football playoffs 15 times in the past 16 years. For the past two decades he has also served as the Mars School District Athletic Director. Beyond his significant contributions to the Mars School District, he served on the WPIAL & PIAA Board of Control and the WPIAL Track & Field Committee. He also has served as the President of the Northern Association of Northern Football Coaches and the Midwest Athletic Directors Association, he has also served as Vice-President of the WPIAL Athletic Directors Association.
