A 1941 Karns City HS graduate and played for several county baseball teams from the 1940’s era. During time playing for the local Chicora American Legion baseball team for coach Ed Gaisford, and made the Baseball Atlantic All-Star Team in 1941, and he moved on to play for military teams at Eglin Field in Florida, and he also boxed for the base boxing team. In the late 1940’s he played for Butler County baseball teams, making several All-Star teams. After baseball he played for 17 years in the Keystone Softball League. He was named Co-MVP of the league in 1959. During that 1959 season he batted .542. He also managed for 15 years in the Keystone League. In 1966 played of O’Briens Plumbing & Heating on the Class A State Championship Team. He retired from softball at age 52. He was also a member of the American Bowling Congress for 40 years and during that time his team won the VFW State Championship in 1986.
