2010 Don Gaiser

 A 1920’s era Karns City HS graduate who honed his baseball skills on the sandlot fields of Western Pennsylvania in the late 1920’s through the 1940’s. He signed a professional contract with the Cleveland Indians in 1931 for the Blue Ridge League. In 1935 he came back to Pennsylvania and played for his employer the Daugherty Refinery which won the National sandlot Tournament. Healso played locally for Boyers, Chicora, and West Sunbury. He also was a charter member of the Karns City Little League organization. After he stopped playing baseball he became an outstanding golfer winning the Ridgeview Golf Championship in 1942.
