2010 Jennifer Kopac
A 1989 Knoch HS graduate after an outstanding athlete playing track and volleyball. She lettered four years in volleyball, being named All-Section as a sophomore, All-Section and 3rd team WPIAL, team MVP her junior year, and All-Section her senior year. Her track and field play was efforts were remarkable. In her freshman year she broke the javelin school record and was runner-up in the WPIAL Championships. As a sophomore she won the WPIAL championship, and went on to win the PIAA championship, and was runner-up in the shot put. Her dominance continued her junior year. She won the WPIAL and PIAA championships in the javelin and second in the shot put. As a senior she set several records – setting the WPIAL javelin record with a throw of 165’9″, set the Knoch shot put record with a toss of 43’7″, and was named to the USA Today All-American Team. In 2006 she was inducted into the Pennsylvania High School Track and Field Hall of Fame.She then continued her athletic career at Penn State University where she lettered all four years. Some of her outstanding achievements at Penn State included a four year participate and points winner at the Penn Relays, Dogwood Relays Championship Division in the javelin. She was an All- Big Ten selection for indoor (shot put) and Outdoor Track and Field (javelin).
