Lifetime Achievement Award

A 1965 graduate of Karns City HS where he played basketball and track.After graduation he enlisted in the US Army serving in VietNam, and West Germany. While in Germany he quarterback a championship football team, and also played for a championship baseball team. After returning to Butler,he became involved with baseball as a coach and an umpire. He coached all the leagues for the Saxonburg Area Baseball Association, and served in several positions for he league. He also served in several positions for the Butler County American Legion program. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. He continued to coach baseball for several years for the Knoch HS baseball program, and formed a summer league team in the Butler Eagle County Baseball League, again serving in several positions over 25 years in the league. He won 3 regular season championships and 5 playoff championships in the Eagle County League< HIs record on the league was 449-159-6. He served as President of the Butler County PIAA Baseball Officials for ten years and officiated many high school playoff games. He also umpired for the Tri-State Collegiate Umpires Association, and the Collegiate Baseball Umpire Alliance. He served for 10 years as the president of the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame, and also co-hosted a Saturday Morning Sports Show on local radio station.
