1998 Eric Namesnik
A Butler HS graduate where he became an outstanding swimmer becoming a WPIAL and PIAA champion. He went to coninue his swimming career at the University of Michigan. He was a Big Ten Swimming Champion. In 1991 and 1993 he was ranked the # 1 400 medley relay swimmer in the world while winning 8 national championships from 1989 thru 1992. He qualified for the 1992 and 1996 Olympics, winning Silver Medals in both Olympics in the 400 medley relays. He went on to coach a number of potential Olympic swimmers. He died at the age of 37 in a tragic automobile accident.
